Accessiblity and Directions

There is a barrier-free parking stall in the lower parking lot. There is an elevator to the meeting room from the sidewalk next to the front entry, or from the lower parking lot level.

West Seattle Unitarian Universalist Fellowship services are held in the Alki Masonic Temple building, 1 block west of Fauntleroy, east of (downhill from) Jefferson Square, at 4736 40th Avenue SW.

By car from outside West Seattle:

From I-5 going North or South take the West Seattle exit (West Seattle Bridge). Continue all the way on the Bridge, going up the hill. The road curves to the left and then straightens out. You are now on Fauntleroy Way. Remain in the second from left lane. Follow Fauntleroy Way through the stop light at 35th Avenue SW.

Continue through 2 more stoplights, and then curve to the left again, going through the main lighted intersection of Alaska and Fauntleroy. Go past a block of Gee Car Dealership buildings, THEN IMMEDIATELY TURN RIGHT AT THE NEXT STOPLIGHT onto Edmunds.

On the north-east corner of 40th Ave SW and SW Edmunds is the entrance to a parking lot which we are allowed to use. You will see the West Seattle Unitarian Universalists sign on the white Masonic Temple building just north of the parking lot. There is also street parking but it is limited.

Enter the building from 40th Avenue SW through the main doors, or use the elevator entrance through the door to the right of the main doors.

 

By public transit from downtown Seattle:

From downtown take bus route #22, 54, or 55 to West Seattle. Get off at SW 40th & Alaska Way SW. Cross Alaska Way and walk one-half block south on 40th. You will see the Masonic Temple on your left.

 

By public transit from Bellevue, Renton, Seatac Airport, White Center, or Fauntleroy Ferry

take route #560 (Sound Transit Express) to Alaska Junction. Staying on Alaska Way, cross California Avenue and walk downhill to SW 40th. Turn right onto 40th and you will see the Masonic Temple on your left.

 

By public transit from the Admiral area

take bus route #55 to SW 40th and Alaska Way. Walk one-half block south on 40th. You will see the Masonic Temple on your left.

 

By public transit from the South Seattle Community College area

take route #128 (note that the 128 does not stop at the college itself on Saturdays & Sundays) to California & Edmunds, walk east on Edmunds to 40th, then turn left onto 40th, you will see the Masonic Temple on your right. Or take the #135 to downtown, then follow the directions "from downtown" above.

 

From High Point

take route #128 on SW Morgan St, then follow directions above.
OR route #21 on 35th Avenue SW which stops on 35th near Alaska Way. Walk west on Alaska to 40th.

 

from the Alki area

By car from within West Seattle:

From California Avenue coming from the north or the south, turn east on Edmunds which is one block south of the major intersection at California and Alaska.

From 35th Avenue coming from the south, turn west onto Edmunds which is the last left before the major intersection of 35th and Alaska.

From Delridge Avenue coming north turn west onto Genessee (just after the Delridge Community Center) then turn left onto Avalon. Continue up Avalon to Fauntleroy, left onto Fauntleroy, bend left with Fauntleroy when it crosses Alaska Way then immediately turn right onto Edmunds, then before the next intersection (Edmunds & 40th Ave SW) turn right into the parking lot on the northeast corner of Edmunds and 40th-- the entrance to the parking lot is on Edmunds.
